Amazing A2 ... but original?

It's got all the bells & whistles; patches, field modded collar, etc. and the patina is just incredible. Too good to be genuine? Hefty price tag to reflect is 'genuiness' but i've only ever seen repros that have all the gubbins on them, this seems almost like a mythical jacket.

What do the experts say?

It's an original Aero with a theatre added mouton collar.

Andrew, is that zipper/ zipper stitching correct? The profile of the teeth looks like the one to be found on those 50s era Vislon type zippers... What do you think?

The zipper's a 1950s Coats Clark brand (note solid stopper teeth), and clearly a replacement. I believe they were made by Crown, or Crown became Coats Clark, or something like that. The puller looks just like a similar era/size Crown puller.

The seller does say that the zipper has been replaced with a CC zipper. He also mentions the lining, which looks pretty much brand new.

This jacket would have originally had a Crown or a Talon zip. Very occasionally you see Aeros with brass Conmars.

Great patina.
Often older jackets look "dirty" or in other ways does not apeal to me like I would want to wear it to an office or even close to people on the subway but this one just looks good.
