Altering a coat lapel

Does anyone know if it is possible to alter the lapel on a wool coat? I love everything about the coat but the lapel is extremely wide and looks too 70's. I would like it to be narrower.

Yes, making the lapel narrower is fairly simple. Any competent tailor or seamstress can do it.
