I was at first determined to buy the Christy's Adventurer....the price was reasonably cheap and it has the Indy styling I'm looking for, plus it's on sale now...but too many questions arose over it's quality and durability...does anyone know much about the Christy's Adventurer?...

Seriously, if a custom hat is in your budget, there's no reason not to go custom over an off the rack hat.

I have a Christy's, the color is nice, the block shape is nice, but the ribbon work is shoddy and the felt is not very dense, therefore not very durable.

Yeah, a custom hat would be my first choice, but out of reach as far as my budget goes for now...and I've heard some of those very things about Christy's, so I think I'll stay away from it....If I save a little more, maybe I can swing a Garrison since it's decently priced....(Adventure Built and Penman are way out of budget for now...really nice hats though),..but, I'm already having enough trouble trying to justify a $130 off the rack hat to the ol' ball and chain.

Hey Chuck B., how tall was the crown on your Squatter after you bashed it with a center dent?....I believe the Squatter is a 5 1/4 open crown...

Current bash measures 4-1/2" (front), 4-3/4" at tallest point on the side, and 4-1/4" back.

Thanks Chuck, it looks nice....I'm guessing you could probably get a decent Indy bash on your Squatter?
