Thank you. I'm looking more for the "casual hat that can be dressed up" category. I actually like the look of the brown DM Adventurers that I'be seen posted here but I'm not sure I want to go that "Indy."

"Get them both" is the motto of this place, right? They should translate it into Latin and put it on top of each page.

I like the Indy look but I'm not into cosplay and I normally avoid trying to look like someone else. Still, there is no denying that it's a nice rugged look even if you aren't into the movies. You can also partly avoid the "Indy" issues by creasing it differently and avoiding the Indy Turn.

Whichever way you go, please share photos as we call all live vicariously through you.

The folks at the Hattery in Katoomba set a high standard for customer service and product knowledge.

I was in their store from 10 a.m. until closing time my first visit. I tired on practically every hat and received a rather thorough, patient initiation into the world of Akubra from Trudi and the other woman (whose name I’ve forgotten).

I left with my now-retired Banjo Paterson.

The second time i visited I just went in to say hello because I like them so much.
The other might have been Jenny, or Deb -- at least those were the ladies I emailed with when I was purchasing my two Feds.

For me, the easiest way to post photos is to use the Tapatalk app. Very simple, which is good for those of us who are less tech savvy.

Let’s try it out. I’m not much for posting pictures of myself on forums, but here’s a bad shot of my navy Stylemaster.

Not many of us are fond of posting photos of ourselves, or at least started out that way, but as much as we all like to see the hats we also like to see how they look on each other. And seeing everyone's faces somehow makes this a friendlier place; it's just a part of the camaraderie. You can obviously do what you want, but think of it this way--if you're the only person at a nudist colony wearing clothes, you're going to stand out as the oddball. :p

By the way, you nailed the whole "posting photos" thing.

Just remember that he's being rhetorical and you don't need to be nude to post photos. And yes, it takes some time to get comfortable with posting photos of yourself (I'll let you know when I get there), but seeing the hats on a persons head is completely different these just seeing the hat.
