Age of this Hercules Sears Roebuck and Co. Wool Jacket

I'm much better at dating women's clothing so I'm looking for a bit of help. This is what I have found already. From what I've found on the Sears archives the Hercules brand ran from 1908 to 1965. Menswear is not my forte so my guesstimate is late 40s early 50s. I'd appreciate any assistance you're willing to provide. The jacket has a Talon metal zipper. The label says Hercules Reg U.S. Pat. Off. Sears, Roebuck and Co. TIA.

If you like wool it would be great. Unfortunately wool makes me itch horribly and of course it won't fit DH so to market it goes.
