Aero Vicenza Sheene

Here's the latest jacket to arrive in my stable, thought you may be interested in me sharing.....

A couple of years ago, I ordered my first custom jacket direct from Aero. A brown FQHH Sheene. It was fantastic, other than the aggressive taper from the chest through to the waist. Ultimately, it was just too tight through the torso & it was moved on to another Lounger.

Take 2, another Sheene, but a different hide.
Ordered with Carrie's extremely helpful (and patient) assistance this one is spot on.

Interestingly, this jacket was ordered in April last year, but hasn't been worn until now.
There were manufacturing delays at the time, then a small issue with the first jacket that arrived, with a re-make being delivered just in time for our Aussie Summer.

At this point, I simply MUST go out of my way to acknowledge the efforts that Carrie (@Carrie @ Thurston Bros. ) and Denny (@cloudylemonade ) went to, to ensure I was happy with the end product.
In a world of five minute attention spans and corporations who just don't give a toss about their customers, I believe great service should be acknowledged.
Both Carrie and Denny went above and beyond - this is why I'll keep coming back for more (plus the product is pretty killer!).

Anyway the details;
  • Aero ‘Sheene’ - Café Racer with a Highwayman collar
  • Seal Vicenza hide (requested darker shade)
  • + 0.75” added to each side panel
  • Capercaillie Locharron lining (cotton drill in sleeves)
  • One shallow single point ‘V’ yoke on the upper back
  • No shoulder gussets
  • No kidney panel on rear, inside or outside
  • Olive Drab contrast stitching
  • One horizontal chest pocket with diamond Talon zip pull
  • Two hand warmer pockets, no zip closure
  • All zips in antique brass finish
  • One interior pocket, no closure
I have to laugh though, a year on and I've lost about 5kgs (11lbs) and don't require the added room quite as much......

That back design is a work of art. It doesn't get any better than Aero's single point western yoke and deleted kidney panel. Perfect!

Lovely grain on this one! Your persistence paid off...it fits you perfectly! This one is definitely a keeper.
BTW I went through three Sheene orders before I finally got the one I wanted to keep!
I think the Sheene design is deceptive in that it looks so effortless and simple. But the fit and a myriad of small details really have to be nailed down exactly before it can really come out perfect like this one. Unlike other jacket styles, there's no place to bury slight miscalculations in measurements or design.

I don't think the overall appearance or fit could be improved on. Seal Vicenza is by far my favorite of all hides made. Well done!!
