Aero Vicenza jacket was hung by collar and has stretched

I left my jacket laying in a corner at a party and some "helpful" person hung it up by the collar. I don't think it was hanging up for more than an hour but it stretched the leather right below the collar so it looks like I have a little hump on my back when I wear it now. Is there any way I can get it to shrink back down or is my jacket ruined?

Ugh, annoys me to no end when people do that. I know I must probably seem very weird while taking the jacket off the hanger and explaining how it's too heavy and might break the hook off but I honestly don't care anymore...

Anyway, I wouldn't say it's ruined, the hump will eventually even out, especially with wear but "massaging" the area might help as well.

I had a lump on a Vicenza jacket that were caused by hanging it on a weird hanger when it was wet from being out in the rain. It actually worked to get it wet again and then gently trying to smooth out the lump with my hands.

First off i’m not handing my jacket(s) to anyone, nor my hats. I’ll take care of them myself, thank you very much and if that’s a problem then i’m in the wrong place.
If it only took an hour to stretch, i bet it comes back on it’s own.

I'd just wear it as it is and see if it evens out again. Rub it with your hand a good bit too. Vic is not fragile like lambskin. I put my FQHH & Steer jackets over the back of my Herman-Miller office chair every day at work, no ill effects at all. Its not orange but looks identical to this one: (Has a rather wide back at the top). https://www.hermanmiller.com/products/seating/office-chairs/mirra-2-chairs/

In any case, sorry that happened. My mother would be that person, always trying to help. But yes, there are just items and times that I do not want something just "hung up."

I sympathize, I realiy do. But the massive irony for me is that here we have a rugged, hugely expensive, supposedly heirloom quality, work wear style item that's disfigued by the not unreasonable gesture of being hung up for a mere hour. There's a reason I wear Dickies when I go out.

I got a couple weird folds in my board racer from sitting on a wet bench for a couple of hours. Just wear it and wear it, the jacket will regain its shape or at least mould to accommodate your body again.

Some of you are talking like these things are Faberge eggs or something. The wheels on my bicycle are worth much more than the most expensive jacket I own and they get hammered with road tar, goose shit, water, gravel ect ect. 8 months out of the year. Plus, a well made leather jacket will last a lifetime where these carbon bicycle wheels will eventually wear out.

Wear those jackets and don't let them wear you.

“Hi mate, nice to see you. Come in, can I take your jacket? Have a seat”...”no thanks, I can’t take it off in case it gets ruined, is that chair wet? Maybe I’ll just stand”

I never knew leather jackets were so delicate.
