Aero Royale Battered Steer

So i just got delivery of an Aero Royale in Battered Steer ordered on the recent 25% off sale.

And very happy. For me its a great fit, i prefer a "comfy" fit rather than a skin tight fit that seems to be popular.

Also super happy with the leather and more than a little surprised. Perfect weight for Melbourne Australia, its almost light weight or probably just very supple and broken in. It is seriously like a second skin. i knew battered steer was meant to be a mid-weight Aero leather but not this light and supple feeling. For comparison I recently purchased a new Aero HWM in mid-weight oil pull leather that i really like but is quite stiff, so was expecting something in the same range. But hell no.

Will post a few photos soon, a bit busy enjoying the jacket.

Great jacket.

Nice. As Edward and I have often said this is the real Indiana Jones jacket. This kind of pattern was a very common style for golfers, cyclists and outdoorsmen.

Nice catch! This is a jacket I've hummed and hawed over a couple of times and never quite bit the bullet on - first time, I ended up with a Bootlegger instead, the second it was a Wayfarer. Still on my list, perhaps in blackened brown...

Thanks. I like the jacket style and its not massively quirky for my taste so I will use it at a lot of varied outings.
But for me the kicker is the leather, the leather is sssoooooo supple. I forget I have it on, seriously. That feature will get this jacket worn a lot more.

I will post photos of the leather soon.

Excellent fit!. I have an Aeromarine in the same leather, also a size 42. I’ve also been seriously considering a Royale, probably a size 40. Do you mind posting your height etc?, thanks.n
6 Foot and 210 pounds. Calling me athletic is a stretch more semi-athletic. I work out regularly and watch what i eat but i am no monk so enjoy an occasional drink and a good meal with the right company and that shows. ;)
I have an Aero Highwayman size 40 with same P2P, shoulder measurements and i like the fit. I would say the HWN is more roomy around the waist.

Do you have any pics of the Aeromarine? I am keen on that style.

Nice fit. I like the jeans too. Are these Brave Star Slubnoxious 21-oz? I love mine!
Good spot and close. They are Brave Star 22oz Slubnoxious 2 Japanese denim. A bit over a year old and first wear for 5 months as the weather is cooling down now. Still a ways to go breaking them in. They left indigo all over the couch last night. o_O

Thanks. Yes I have some pics on here if you search for Aeromarine review. I’m 5’11 and the Aeromarine is slightly roomy around the waist otherwise a good fit. It has 19” shoulders and a p2p of no more than 23”. I love the battered steer. Gives it some character.

That's a perfect fit! I really like this design and am putting it on my shortlist. I'm usually a 42, but based on your jacket dimensions and your size, at 5'10", 195 lbs, and a 42" chest, I guess I would drop down to a 40 for this jacket.

Found it, very good. I plan on getting the hand warmer pockets too.

Thanks. And i agree if my jacket is Aero's standard size for a 42 Royale you would be better off in a 40.

Yes, these take forever to develop any kind of fades. They must be just loaded with indigo dye. Mine (21-oz, Gen 1) have become quite soft (3 months, one wash). One of my favorites, for sure.
