So this popped up on ebay, and ebay happened to run one of those 15% off coupon codes, and I got the seller to come down a bit from his asking price, which made it a reasonable buy. If it fits, and looks at least half as good as these pictures, I've done OK.

Its design is interesting, the overall look is almost like a Sheene, but with a badge holder, and holster-access snaps at the hem line, epaulets, and snap cuffs. If not for the badge holder, you'd have a hard time guessing it was a police jacket. I really like the cafe racer style breast pockets and the generously sized openings on handwarmer pockets.

I've seen a few Aero police jackets for sale, but never one designed quite like this, and I really like it. It's the best looking one I've seen. I'm curious about how old it is, it looks like it must be older. 80s maybe, 90s? The steerhide looks like it has developed almost as much character as the tan Highwayman I picked up last month. Really looking forward to receiving this one.

That one has been listed a couple times. Absolutely killer jacket. You should send the pics to Aero and see what they say about it. Even the hardware looks outside the norm.

Oh man! I’d like to know what part of the country that style was in service in. In the off chance that you’ve grossly miscalculated the measurements skip the classifieds and shoot me a pm.

I like that this jacket does not have the side lacing commonly seen in other ‘police’ MC jackets. Good score there.

I recall it being too small for me but great catch. I certainly wanted it. Looks cool.

Thats’s 20 years worth of patina at 8 hours a day 5 days a week. So few cops wear leather jackets these days. I only know a few and they’re all 20+ year guys.

If I was ever pulled over by an officer wearing that thing, just watch, I'd be able to talk myself out of a ticket via complimenting the jacket.

"Do you know how fast you were going?"

"No, but I do know what a fine jacket that is. Early Aero? Talon? Can I try it on?"

*gets arrested... lol

That looks astounding Guppy. Please post up any info you get about it, plus some fit pics and measurements. I think I'm going to have to hunt one down for myself. :)

Good luck finding one. This is literally the first I've seen in this style since I became aware of Aero, about 4 years ago. Like I said, I've seen a few other "patrolman" jackets but they look different.

These are more typical of what I've seen (these images from two live Yahoo! Japan auctions):

The one looks much more like a police uniform jacket to me:

This is more like a zip-sleeve Highwayman, but with a duty belt loop hem, and a badge holder.

The one I have coming in is far and away cooler looking, in my opinion.

Total understatement Guppy.
That jacket is a whole new level of cool!!
It’s lines just flow.
Look forward to your reviews.

Looks like a style Aero should revive, in nice heavy Steerhide. I really like it too, something about the side details, the front & back are just very well balanced. Nice score! Will be looking forward to fit photos, etc.

That second one without the belt loops and side laces is what I NEED. Or one like your find, stellar stuff.
