Yeah on closer inspection, while it has similarities, it's not quite as close as I initially thought. The Aero looks a lot better (obviously) and doesn't have that whole "costume" feel about it.

I have a black version which I got an age ago not long after the film came out. Haven't worn it in yonks though.

I always liked the colour of the Fight Club jacket. I gather that in Italy they thought it hilarious, as red leather there is perceived to be "for women". I did wodner whether that was a deliberate nod on the part of the costumers, given that Pitt at other times (notably the dressing gown) wears things that are open to being perceived as effeminate, and given the overall context that a major theme of the whole is questioning the contemporary notion of masculinity.

I still love the film (and the book too for that matter) and its subversiveness. It's a classic and Pitt's best performance by a long chalk.

Nice jacket, I especially like the buttons and the button side adjustments. I'm always curious about sizing. Is it a stock Medium, how's the fit and what are your measurements if I may be so bold to ask? I just got an A1 and I'm always worried about the buttons falling off, but they haven't yet.

P.S. It's weird about "Fight Club" and Brad Pitt getting punched.

I'm not a real fan of leather jackets with buttons but this one really suits the button closure. Might be the collar, not sure, but it just looks right to me. Both the seal and the russet colours appeal to my eye. Congrats to you Rudie.

I never much liked the film, it got boring quickly but I agree Pitt was solid. The jacket looks way better in black.

GREAT jacket Rudie ..... Grant Tartan is a GREAT lining.

Really nice construction and the buttons work really well with the overall style. I like the collar and think it suits the jacket really well .... I'm slowly warming to this button thing so long as the leathers pliable and they work wihout wrestling them into submission.

Wear it hard and wear it well ....

Interesting idea. I thought that it was more to do with the fact that he was the extrovert to Norton's character's introvert.

Well, it's one of those message films where you can pick from a range of allegorical possibilities. You're both right.

What I realized just now is how much my goatskin jacket has formed to my body. The mid weight HH is certainly thicker than the goat and it definitely needs breaking in. At the moment it feels a tad restricting, even though the measurements are very similar to my goat jacket. When switching from the new jacket to the goat jacket I realize just how extremely comfortable the goat jacket is. I hope the new HH jacket breaks in just as well and becomes as comfortable as time goes by. Anyway, it makes me appreciate the goatskin even more. It is way underrated in my opinion.

I agree re the goat. I have two A2s - one ELC in horse, one Aero in goat. Bought both used. The ELC gets very little wear compared to the Aero. The goat just feels "right".

haha, you guys are killing me with these "'70s vibe" and "Fight Club" references! Get out of town with that nonsense.

Rudie this is an incredible vintage style jacket, I want one!

People generally don't know their history or do the research to learn it. Like you say, this is very much a vintage style, popular in the early 1940s.

Nothing wrong with the 70's, its not an insult by any means. Its a very funky jacket and the 70's were pretty damn funky from what i remember (although I was very very young at the time)

Well, the 70's took many of their design ideas from the past. I don't mind the collar but it is exaggerated compared to other vintage patterns.

Well done, Rudie! I have never previously considered ordering a jacket from Aero, but I could go for something like that.
