The latest custom Aero has arrived.
I've played around with the Aero cafe racer pattern across 3 jackets now & frankly haven't found 'the one'. The cut is just slightly not suited to my shape.
Enter the Board Racer.....
This is Aero's stock-standard Board Racer pattern (length ordered to fit), configured to the J-100 design, with no hand warmers.
Single snap collar (from cafe racer)
Requested 26” sleeves & 27” back
The first impressions are WOW!
This is the cut that I've been looking for. So, so comfortable straight out of the box. No need to add or subtract anything from the body to get the right fit.
This jacket is cut from what was described as a 'slightly lighter weight CXFQHH' hide. For the record, it is just an outstanding hide that will require practically zero break in. AND the grain straight out of the box is just brilliant. This one will develop beautifully over time.
It has a similar hand to Vicenza, but all of the desirable characteristics of the 'standard' CXFQHH. In fact, it is so fantastic to wear that I recommended to Holly that this should be made a standard option.
I usually wear a 42 in most Aero's & sized up to a 44 for this cut. It was a great choice.
The arm holes are cut high, the sleeves thinner, the shoulders are narrow, the body is forgiving & the overall combo of these factors works very well indeed.
I love this one so much that I've already commenced discussions with Holly for another jacket based on this base pattern.
Holly (@cloudylemonade ) was just a dream to work with & Denny's attention to detail is evident in what he will (or will not) let out of the factory to land in the hands of their customers. Once again, I find myself impressed by the company's overall approach to looking after their customers.
Anyway, here are the pic's (taken with a flash, it’s not that shiny in person);
