Aero Hercules Sizing advice

This is my first post , as i just got bit by the leather bug ,
Im planning on ordering an Aero Hercules LHB version and looking for a trimmed fit
Aero is recommending a size 46 and believe 44 might be to tight if for instance i have additional layering , as i want an interchangeable jacket which i can wear in spring also. my usually sizes are 44-46 depending on the cut though some of the 44s i own don't allow for additional layering, Im aware that the 1950 style jackets have a roomier fit

My chest measurements are as following

Chest Relaxed: 46 1/2 In
Chest Expanded 47 in
Waist 42 1/2 in

Would appreciate any input from members who own similar sizes

Go with what Aero recommend, as anyone should really. I have a 36 standard LHB and it's large enough to wear a warm jumper under it, but doesn't drown me ie an ideal fit for this jacket. Don't know how much wear you'll get out of it in Qatar, I guess you can wear it while watching telly with the air conditioning cranked up.

Really funny no way i would wear it in Qatar right now , i actually wear jacket in the winter months as it can get quite cold , but my main purpose is for when i travel for spring/winter holidays
Thanks for the input

I have one, and am about the same size as you, I reckon it runs true to size without allowing for layering, but go with what the profesionals say. I have a mouton collar which I think is nice but everybody has their own idea of what is good and bad. If you are wearing it to drive it is quite a long jacket, you will be sitting on it and if you wriggle around it may be uncomfortable on you.

I got the Hercules in a 46" a few months ago. I'm 5' 11.5', and similar measurements to you in the chest, perhaps an inch bigger. It's perfect for me layering over a mid-weight wool jumper or a heavy shirt, but I wouldn't want it any smaller. I wear it with the side ties quite loose. I'd say, with your measurements, the 46" should be perfect.
