Any opinions on a Black Aero Cropduster made with Zip Sleeves or Button Cuff instead of the straps? Maybe there are some photos floating around the lounge somewhere??

I'd go with the button cuffs, but not zip sleeves. Zippers are a completely different beast and, while they are great on a cafe racer or something like that, I think they would look terrible on a jacket like the crop duster. Completely different eras and not compatible with each other at all. Others may disagree with me, but they would be wrong. ;) :p

de Stokesay said the words before I could respond. Order sleeves with or without the straps, or button sleeves, but not zip sleeves for the Cropduster.

Tossing historical accuracy aside, what about from a purely functional / balanced look to the jacket. Wouldn't it fit pretty well lookwise with the dual chest zips? Yes, it would be a more modern/fashion design vs a true historical report. But my main purpose isn't to reproduce an old fashioned coat.

It's always fun to toss historical accuracy aside, just ask several of our politicians. I can see your point, but I don't know if Aero would be inclined to see such a jacket go out with their name on it. Doesn't hurt to ask.

I think it wouldnt look well. Zip sleeves are a typical element of biking jackets and wouldnt match with the rest of this vintage design coat. That's like having racing seats put in a 70s Lincoln Continental. Arguably functional, but does not go well together, aesthetically.

I don't like the straps either, but I'd go with a standard american cuff, certainly not zips.

Ah, now it makes sense with the car comparison. Once again, the Lounge logic prevails!

Things for me in the past have not worked out whenever I have attempted to reinvent the wheel. :D

I have a 1940's car coat with sip sleeves and a Western style front yoke. Looks fine. But I understand where the others are coming from.

I've put it away in storage for summer but here's the only photo I have.

Hmm, looks good Seb. Too bad you didn't have it handy for a few other angles. Think it might work on a Black version of this old montgomery ward coat? Either with two chest pockets, one, or none.
