Does anyone have a well broken in Aero jacket with this leather? I would like to see how it ages with the brown undertones.

This question comes up from time to time and as I recall so far nobody has had a worn in jacket in this hide to show off. I have a Type 3 in blackened brown and I will say the topcoat is much more durable than I thought it would be. I have not worn the jacket all that much in the three years I’ve owned it and it still looks practically brand new.

I have a 2 year old Ridley. I'm probably the third or fourth owner. I haven't worn a lot, but I know it got a lot of wears before me. Not one sign of brown breaking through.

I have noticed however, maybe with @AeroFan_07 jacket, that some versions of the leather had thinner top coat and appear to have a warmer glow in certain light.

Mine is pure black. Wouldn't know the wiser if I wasn't told it was blackened brown. We'll see. But it's a good option for me because I do have the Commando which is more Lux style and that top coat has pretty much gone away with not a lot of wears and jacket is essentially brown with black streaks at this point. Will be interesting to see the Ridley with brown coming through just on high stress points, basically the opposite.

Only 1 of 4 Blackened Brown Vic jackets I’ve owned was showing any real teacore. It had the aforementioned thin topcoat, and started to brown with very little time and wear. I have moved it along, so I don’t have any current pics of it. I do have a picture when it was new and next to a typical blackened brown finish. Jacket with thin finish is on the bottom. You can definitely see the warmer glow Toomanyhats mentioned. The other 3 of my 4 BB Vic jackets look just like the top one, and show little to no notable brown at all.

I have one that is about 4 years old, I wear it a fair bit but on rotation with a few others. Probably my most worn one as it is a very comfy leather. It’s still pretty much super black with a few brown small areas showing in high wear points.
Aero’s Black FQCXLHH shows the brown core way faster than the Vincenza BB.

I am working out the details on a new aero jacket and I am looking for a low gloss black jacket that will age like this I just dont want to end up with a mostly brown jacket.

I'm glad I hadn't seen one of the chocolate brown jackets people have posted at the time when I placed my order, else I wouldn't have ordered the leather. But I wonder now if I just got lucky and I need to ask for a visibly black hide next time.
