Aero August in battered tan horsehide, 42”. Don’t recall seeing many of this pattern out in the wild so might be of interest to forum members. Aero list this as a medium weight horsehide but it’s got some heft to it.

Size 42
Measurements
Chest 23 1/4”
Shoulders18 1/2”
Sleeves 25”
Back 24 3/4”

My first pull up hide jacket and it’s very interesting stuff. Easily marked or scratched but put it in the sun and let the oils and waxes warm and the scratches just disappear before your eyes - it’s like some magic trick. My first Aero ‘campfire’ label, which is a nice touch.

Nice jacket and interesting hide. Sort of where a natural veg tan leather ends up.

I'm definitely interested in seeing more of August. Brilliant jacket, one of my favs from the regular line and this one is just too beautiful. Looks perfect on you! How's the action back? Must be really comfortable to move around in?

Nice!

The August is such a nice design for a half-belt. I like the sharper collar than their 50's HB design, and it seems a lot of the custom jackets people have been getting lately (Sheenes, especially) specify to use this collar rather than the Highwayman collar. This one sounds like it's a bit closer fitting than the boxy 50's HB fit, as well.

The jacket appears to fit you well. May I ask how tall/short/fat/skinny you are? Sorry to be so personal but based on your answers I can be interested.

Many thanks, the action back works well, it just gives enough to make reaching forward easier.

No problem, I’m 5’ 11’ but sadly not as slim as I used to be, 36” waist now - I really need to work on that!

Thats REALLY nice! I've never really considered the August...this makes me wonder why! Great choice of leather too.

Is there are front drop on the front like the 30's HB or is it more even like the 50's?

The leather is different, no doubt, still hefty but more pliable than heavy horse. There is a small drop from back to front but not as pronounced as my 30’s half belt. If you look at the second photo, showing the back, you can see the drop.

I haven't seen an August (very clean half belt design what I really like) made of battered tan before but I think it's a perfect combination and battered tan is a special/unique/beautiful leather and the jacket fits you very well!
