Aero A2 - which contract to go for? Bronco?

I'll probably end up ordering another Aero A2 at some point in the near future...I had a 15142, but found the sleeves much too baggy, shoulders a smidgeon too narrow and the length just too short. It just didn't work on my body at all.

The 38-1711 contract seems to be regarded as the slimmest, but allegedly is still quite a short cut jacket with narrow shoulders - both things I doubt will work for me.

As such, wisdom around here tells me I should look at the Bronco. My research tells me it's longer by design, has wider shoulders and is a slimmer cut in both the body and sleeves than the 15142. Does that sound correct? Or should I be looking at a different contract instead?

If anyone's had/got a Bronco I'd like to hear from you.

Would appreciate your help!

P.s.I can't find anything about the Unknown Maker A2 - clearly not too popular?

Bronco's the way to go. The ones I've tried on at the factory were long in the body. I have an Unknown Maker, or 1572 contract as it's also known, and it's relatively short.

I am ~6’2” 185 lbs with long arms & legs and built more or less like a stick. My Aero Bronco is a size 44 with 27” back and 27” sleeves. I am very happy with the fit. I am told US Authentic A-2’s are sized BIG.

I'm 6ft, 160lbs - I got mine in a 40' with an extra inch on body & sleeve.....but I did get to visit factory and try on a couple of jackets.....recommended.

You seem quite committed on getting an Aero jacket, ML, so if I was you (or still in Yorkshire), I’d consider making a nice long weekend of jumping on a train to Galashiels, having pre-arranged the trip with Holly, and go visit Aero and try on as many A2s as they have.
Get the right jacket and it’s an investment and it will be something you’ll wear for a decade or two or more, so the initial cost will bear a lot of fruit long after the initial expense. I myself firmly felt that an ELC Star Sportswear A2 was THE jacket for me but when I tried one at the ELC QM tent at RAF Duxford, it turned out it wasn’t - not at all. And I walked out with one of their black HH Luftwaffe jackets instead. I never saw that coming.
So as you’re relatively local (compared to me today and so many of us around here), I’d say that there’s no substitute for trying on a jacket and to nip on up and have a shufty and enjoy being amongst all that gear! And enjoy the countryside too! Then you’ll know 100 percent if that Bronco likes you (meaning it suits you) as much as you like it!
