Aero A-2 Labels

Too lazy to take a pic..........just took possession of an Aero repro A-2.
Inside label has ordinary drawing, contract and order numbers data, then:
Property
Air Force, U.S. Army
AERO LEATHER CLO. CO.
44

I'm questioning the abscence of "Beacon, N.Y."
Anyone know why this info is missing on the jacket?

Hy'a Joe,

This is a guess, but perhaps your Aero is not a repro of an actual Air Corps A-2 contract.
Aero Scotland currently does three A-2s based on Aero Beacon contracts:
38-1711-P, 40-3785-P, and their standard style A-2 at this time, 42-15142-P.
Some labels for 42-15142-P mention Beacon and some don't.

Other numbers are likely what is called a "house style," meaning it's a "generic" style that doesn't copy any one contract. For instance, my Aero Indian goat A-2 (no longer made) is 42-11018-P, a made-up number the Air Corps never used, and Beacon doesn't appear on the label.

That's what I was thinking as well, a house model, however the contract no. on my jacket is: 42-15142-P.

1942 is the code, not all Aero A2's carry the Becon NY label as previously said, this code is normally on the A2 anniversary

Thanks macguzzi, but I'm not totally convinced. Aero currently offer their Real Deal, Anniversary and Smooth Horsehide all bearing the 1942 date (contract acceptance date). But which of Aeros offerings bear the label sans Beacon, N.Y. line? And why (or) why not? That is still a mystery to me.

I have dispatched an email to Amanda/Will requesting information and I'll post their response.
