I believe it had one of the crests, all white on a black felt. I'm not really sure... I'm still new to the hat world, so I have a hard time telling a derby from a bowler (just a joke). It was a 7-1/4.

One of the crests at the top or the bottom?

Did it look like this, but black?

It's not as old as I thought, the "crest" I thought I saw wasn't actually a crest. I went ahead and picked it up, as I'm probably going to do some 40's film noir shorts, and I need prop hats. OK, so what I have figured out about it. It's definitely wool, the model name is "Godfather" and it isn't that old. Someone apparently put some side dents in it that I've yet to decide whether to take out. That's about it. So, what would the value be if, after my films, I decided to put it on ebay or here? Can post pics if needed.

Well, not exactly... It just says Adam(R) and has a sort of coat-of-arms or something with a couple of lions on the inside... I'm really confused now, because I thought they were the same company.

Yes, when you said that, I looked again and noticed that they weren't lions. Haha, sorry about that. So, is there any way you can judge the age of this? I'm pretty sure it's fairly new, but I'd like to find out for sure.

not sure where to best place this, so here seems about as good as any.

just acquired this adam today in shartlesville, PA. cost =$0.00

(explanation: the owner of the shop asked $8 for it, but then my wife bargained for a vintage aluminum xmas tree, and the hat got thrown in for free.)

seems pretty mint. adam, 7-1/4. porkpie? any comments are welcome.

johnny dollar, that's a real bargain! An aluminum Christmas tree? Really?

Anyhow, back to the hat. Yes, it looks like a porkpie, but does it have the usual porkpie crease, a pronounced indented ring on top? You wear it well. :)

Nice looking pork ! Your shades and goatee with the hat fit your "hipster" look well :) Here's a pic of your namesake and his hat back in 1954, Bob Bailey, the first Johnny Dollar on CBS radio.

thanks, i love those OTR shows, for sure.

This is another JohnnyPhi Adam Crosley, size 7 3/8 from his FL auctions. This one doesn't have a sewn in liner. The felt is thicker and on the stiff side. The sweet looks similar to the sand Pacesetter that I posted earlier but that one has a sewn in liner. I am thinking early to mid 60s maybe latter?

Received the Adam Pacesetter I bought from Scotrace. Been looking for a gray "shark gill" pleated ribbon for a while. Mint.
