A tie with a twist

I've got two ties made by Tootal which I rather like, but which have a bit of a problem. They're both a little twisted, so that the point at the bottom isn't quite symmetrical and there's a bit of pulling in the fabric. They both look fine when worn with a waistcoat or double breasted jacket, since not much of the tie is ever seen, but with a 2-piece summer suit it can be seen. Is there anything I can do, or anything a dry-cleaner could do, to straighten out these ties, or should I just continue to use them with three piece suits?

Hello Nick/All,

Don't know how to solve your problem, maybe you will have to unpick the stitches, iron flat, then re-sew, which I am sure you are only too capable of doing.
I do however have a good tip for washing neck ties.
Sew a loose running stitch down each edge of the blade, this will tack the lining to the outer material, and prevent the lining from moving when washing, you can then press the tie, which will still be in it's original shape.

Thanks for the links, Tomasso. One of them does need a cleaning at the bottom, but the stain's probably been there for a couple decades, so I don't know if it'll come out. It may stay a waistcoat tie no matter what. I think I will give opening them up and re-sewing them a shot.
