Here is the ebay link. That's what I thought I posted before but I forgot I was trying to upload the picture into Fotki. (I love the pinhole vents on the sides, man that's classy!

The box comes with it. The band is what sold me. I love those vintage bands. My favorite band is the charcoal blue band that is on the man's hat in Seabiscuit that says to Jeff Bridges the horses do get ____ everywhere and then looks at the woman laughing "excuse me excuse me!"

I LOVE THAT MONTECRISTI!

Art Fawcett (the guy that supplied a ton of the hats for the films including that one) said that that was vintage ribbon he still has available, I was going to do that until I saw this. I tell ya they just had...class. Pure class with everything!

Something kind of funny happened with this hat too, well not the hat more like the auction.

I never, repeat, NEVER win suits or hats for less than $50, so for the heck of it I bid on three labeled 40's double breasted suits, and this hat. Thinking maybe if I'm lucky I'll win the hat. I won every single bloody auction. I'll never do that again, oh well. At least I'll look great on the Queen Mary (not me the suits) ;) :cool2:

My old Straw hat

Gosh, I really hated to part with that hat! When I bought it, the seller said 7 3/8, but when it got here it was 7 1/8. He said he made a typo, so it's been sitting around my housee for about 6 months. If it has been a 7 1/4, I could have made it work. BTW, It went out today in the mail! And thanks for the compliment ITG!

Lauren Henline, welcome to the lounge! It’s nice to see a new pretty face in the place. You look familiar, have you been swing dancing at all in the LA or Orange county area? Memories perhaps?

Any way, good to have you! We share much the same interests.

Root.

Thank you much, I am pleased to be a part of the list.

I believe I met you at the 1929 crash bash about 5 years ago? I know you look really familiar as well, by the photos you posted in another thread.

You were at the Crash Bash? Cool! Did we talk by any chance? I have been to most events through the late 90's to 2001. There really isn't much to go to up here any more. I did attend the Argyle for a year till it ended in June. I miss that place, they had the best bands and it was the last place to really dress up for.

Have you been to any of the PBDA Swing Camps on Catalina? I used to go when it was worth the money. I went last year and had a good time but, wasn't any where near the time I had in the late 90's!

Hope it gets better!

Root.

PS. Here is a photo of me in my WWII AAF Officer's uniform. Enjoy.

I kept telling Root you looked familiar.

I took a few pics at the Crash Bash.

We talked a bit and I asked your date where he got his top hat.
I thought you looked fantastic. back then I weighed alot more and on that day was wearing a double navy chalk stripe suit. I thought I looked completly out of place surrounded by tuxedos.

Remember this?

LOL Oh, now I remember! Yeah, that's right. It was some time ago and I seem to have forgot some things ;) Swell evening though! Wish they would have more events at the Ebell.

Highest regards,

we can talk clothes, plymouths, Fords, and AAF

Oh yeah! I would like to make it to the Queen Mary summit, I’ll have to see and get some time off of work. Does it continue to Sunday? If so, then I’ll be there for that day.

Yes, we should get together and talk about the fine vintage collectables in our lives.

Root.

PS. Just one more AAF related photo, Glenn Miller performing live!
