An it looks like Johnny is wearing vintage Stetson Milan's in the Movie.
Here are a couple of screen shots that I was able to make from the trailer.

Well I love Milan's so now I will have to fight all the hipsters to get one in my size. Well maybe the borsalino vintage pricing might cool off for a few month's.

Looking closely at WiserHatter's stills, it almost looks more like a Leghorn than a Milan. I like it.

Hunter S Thompson is from Louisville. Alan it could be a Leghorn the it is hard to tell but this style of Straw will become more costly to picky up for sure.

Let me make clear (as it appears necessary) that was a joke. I'm not really
trying to sell this Milan or you would see it in the Classifieds section.

I may change my mind if people on the street start making Depp comments.
But I suspect they won't. A populace who generally can't tell a fedora from a
cowboy hat and a grey Cavanagh from (ahem) a brown, crudely pinched H.J. Poet
is not going to remember what Depp's pugaree looked like.

There was a company making a Karl Kolchack straw at one time ... priced at a couple hundred bucks as I remember.
For a hat that was being worn by a hero who was at the shallow end of the journalism pay pool!
