These photos aren't so great. I took them in a hurry. But I wanted to share.
here is a taupe-colored Cavanagh I just got. It's a tad small for me, but it breaks my heart to tear it apart to reblock it. What do you folks think about those hat-stretchers? Anyway, it came completely mauled (not very well-packed) but it bounced right back.
I can now understand why folks use the word "buttery" to describe felt:

And here's the "Cavanagh" I reblocked. It's headed to Art for ribbon attachment (the one you see is just sitting on it). Despite the small hole...it's my favorite hat ever. so far. I put the word "Cavanagh" in quotes because although I've always thought it was a Cavanagh...I realized that the liner did not say Cavanagh at all, though it was in a Cavanagh box with a reciept from the store with the same name as was on the sweatband. The liner said "COLLINS & FAIRBANKS CO. - EXTRA QUALITY." Anyway, whether or not it's indeed a Cavanagh - it's great:

thank you, Fedora, for your wonderful hatblock!
I took pictures of the other five or six new hats I got...but in light of how great these first few came out, I'm going to reshoot tomorrow. I got two Mallorys (one new old stock, one a Mallory Fifteen), a Stetson Custom V, a Royal Stetson Playboy, and a Royal Stetson Deluxe.
