A-1 Pattern Variations?

I would like to learn the differences between the A-1 Contracts pattern variations. Is there a good source that show comparisons, or are A-1s old enough that the details have been lost to time, where as A-2 documentation is immense?

Can y’all please share with me what you know about A-1s?
