This is a pretty nice jacket in pretty good condition. from what I can see on line, it is from about 1976. Any correction would be appreciated.
The maker is Imperial leather and Sportswear Company. The code is MIL-J-7823E (AS) There is also other numbers 8415-00-268-7800 and DSA100-76-C-0375.
I do not know if it is leather or goatskin. It is very supple and in good condition. I see no scuffs, tears, or seams undone. The ribbing at the waist has a few small holes, and the ribbing on the sleeves is not so good and could use replacing, although not necessarily. The collar is in good shape.
The lining is in good shape with no signs of holes or wear.
The size is marked as 42. The measurements are as follows:
Chest 22 1/2 inches from seam at pit to pit. Shoulder seam to seam 18 inches. Sleeve is 22 inches seam to end of leather, 25 counting cuff. Inside is 15 inches to the leather, and 18 inches with ribbed knit cuff. Length in back is 23 inches from top of collar to bottom of leather, and 26 inches to bottom of knit waistband.
