1954 dated British tweed jacket Sz 39-40

This one is a (not really blue enough for Lovat?) greenish blue. It's seen some wear, and has had the buttons removed. Still a lovely from a decent department store; dated 1954.

Once some buttons are applied, it will be a two-button front.

Condition: Several of the liner seams have come unstitched in small regions. Nothing is missing, and these seams can simply be restitched. The armhole liners need to be reattached (see pic). Again, a small job. There are no rips or tears in the liner. One of the cotton pocket bags (liners) has a hole in it and should be stitched; the other has been mended at some point. A common issue on these jackets. there are no buttons. It needs to be cleaned as it has quite a bit of surface dirt, which should clean nicely.

Measurements

Chest: 21.75"
Arm: 23.25" with no easy option of lengthening due to the way the cuffs are made. I guess you could unpick the buttonholes to lengthen the arms
Length: 29.5"
Shoulders: 18.25"

£50 for the jacket. Shipping to be determined by destination. PM with interest.

These are true buttonholes, and could be cut through to make a working cuff.

The label with washed out, but semi-readable date, top right.

Reminds me of James Watson's jacket in this photograph:
