I'd love to know what you all think about this hat that was given to my dad from his very close friend who was President of Buick Motors Southern Area commemorating Buicks 50th Anniversary in 1953. The hat has some moth damage under the brim and the box is in poor condition. Size 7 3/8.

@billmcc56, it's a great looking western, though the mothing is gonna hurt the value. Trying to figure out how Stetson plays into this and did you find any labels attached under the sweat? If it was a Stetson from this era it would put it second from the bottom in Stetson's hierarchy of westerns as they started at No. 1 quality, 3X and so on. Not familiar with the brand so maybe a contract done through another hatter such as Reaistol. Any info on the box?

The size tag, fonts used, the "Hand Creased", red sweatband ribbon with a red liner, and the mix of "Confor" and "eze" (blend of Conforming and Formease) just say "Resistol" to me. It is very similar to my Sears Westerner by Resistol.

This "conforms" it. :D

The 1948 Trademark date works well with the Buick Anniversary & gift date of 1953. Good find Bob!

Hey Greg,
Did you receive the hat yet? BTW your payment still hasnt been posted to my bank account- check on your end to see if it has been debited from your account.
As for my Rolby hat, do you want the original box? Its in bad condition so I'll need to charge postage. Asking you before I put it in classified. $57.50 or $65 if you want the box
