I recently lifted my father's old army boots from the late fifties and polished them to a pretty good cordovan tone. Does anyone have thoughts/suggestions about the advisability of resoling the original diamond patterned soles and heels with perhaps a double leather sole to make the boots look more like the currently popular "vintage" work boots? I'm thinking they might end up looking more like the RRL Bowery Boot or maybe the Wolverine 1000 mile (plus the toe cap). Thanks for any advice.
