Hey everyone! Just to preface real quick, I've been hunting for a jacket like these two for myself, but have run into some sizing issues from sellers not properly measuring the pieces, and thus I have two beautiful jackets that don't fit me quite right to sell.
I have listed these two jackets on my website, but I am in no way trying to advertise my store here, my main occupation is leatherworker, but I also sell vintage items, so this is just where I have listed the pieces for ease of photos and information. If this is a problem, please let me know and I'll find another way to deliver the information.
The first is a gorgeous 1950's dark brown "American Sportswear" FQHH half-belt jacket from Brigham City, Utah 40 or 42
The jacket is in beautiful shape, with no real issues to m ention except for a small tear on the lower front right of the lining, and a very small nick within the back gusset which doesn't appear to go through the leather, and is not visible unless you spread it open to examine it. Both of these issues are pictured in the listing photos.
Measurements:
Pit to pit (stretched out flat): 22.5-23"
Shoulders: 19.5"
Shoulder to end of sleeve: 23"
Length down center back from bottom of collar: 23"
Waist: 22"
Asking price is $325 + SH from California.
The next piece is one that I'm truly bummed about because it fits me absolutely perfectly except for in the length, which is because the seller I bought it from must have been including the collar in the back length.
Vintage Aero Brown Steerhide Highwayman Jacket 38
The seller told me he had this jacket for 10 years, I am unclear when it was made, but it is in gorgeous condition, with only a couple small flaws to note: There is a dime size hole in the wool lining above the aero tag, and there is some residue on the back of the jacket that I'm almost positive can be cleaned off.
Tagged size 38, measures:
Pit to Pit (stretched out flat): 22"
Shoulders: 18"
Shoulder to end of sleeve: 25"
Length down center back from bottom of collar: 23.5"
Waist: 20"
Asking price is $450 + SH from California
I'd possibly be open to trades, though at this point after the struggles I've faced, I am strongly considering just nabbing a new one from Aero, so that I can be sure it will fit me well. My ideal measurements would be about 22 P to P, 18 Shoulders, 25 -25.5 sleeves, 25-25.5 back. And my ideal style is a half belt with hand warmers and a single chest pocket.
Thanks for looking, happy to answer any questions!
