I wonder if anyone can help me out ?
I have a client's greatcoat in for restoration. Chiefly it needs a new belt made. I have looked on the Internet for pictures but all I can find is reproductions & I really want to get this right, so I am after pictures of the genuine article, especially the belt & buckle. I could do with pictures with a scale on so that we can get construction, stitch length & spacing spot on. The coat is in brown leather & is lined with a khaki / olive drab blanket type fabric. Pocket bags are in cream corderoy. It is all original & in excellent shape aside from some damage to one arm & the missing belt. Neck label simply has B44 - L48. Details on the QM pocket label are as follows:
Overcoat Leather W.A.
Size B44XL48
Stock Number 55(or3)03-073-90
Bobrich Mfg. Corporation
P.O 3637
Dated Sept. 27, 1944
Spec P.D.Q. No. 317-A
Phila. Q.M. Depot.
Any help received with gratitude.
