I have owned this jacket for 15 years I am going deep into my collection to raise funds for a green label Langlitz I recently purchased. The nicest thing about this jacket IMO is the rich dense 40s horsehide. The hide is in good condition for an eighty-year-old jacket. There is some thinning of the hide at the shoulder, but absolutely no rot or flacking. I had Dena reinforce the right shoulder from the inside.
The small Talon main zip and Comar sleep zip are original and in good working condition.
The brown mutton collar has a couple of bare spots that are not that noticeable while wearing the jacket. but is generally full.
The cuffs have zip and wist strap adjustments. One of the wist stapes was replaced by Johnston Leathers. My retriever chewed the strap when he was a puppy
1940 Halfbelts are rare to find in such good condition especially in a large size. As Terry pointed out 1940 Half belts were designed and constructed with more attention to artistry and detail than the 1950s jackets.
The price is $650 and includes shipping within CONUS PPF&F
I am not interested in receiving offers. If I decide I am willing to sell at a lower price it will be noted here.
