Here is another vintage 40's suit I acquired... ;) This one is deadstock, and still had the store tags attached.. It is a nice wool in charcoal gray. The hat is a Camptown 1945 Metropolitan.. :)

Yeah, what a rag. But I will generously take it off your hands for cheap:)

I hope he was joking like I am.

Whilst you may view it as a triumph' it seems to be an overtight rag, not really in your size.

What is the purpose in buying something which does not fit?

You sir, are quite rude... The suit fits pretty well, and I am pleased with it.. :)

You look fantastic! Congrats on another fab find.

The suit is great--I think it looks especially "period"--and you've accessorized so well with the tie, the hat and especially the shoes (love the shoes!).

Any chance you could take a picture of the original tags?

Looks good on you. I like the lapels.
It cries for color, though. Have you tried a rust colored tie with it?

Thank you.. I appreciate the compliment... :) I can't find the hanging tag, but here is the one still attached to the trousers..

Thanks Dinerman!... :) I do have a few nice vintage ties that I think will work, and have some color... Rust is a nice thought.. ;)

I actually DID just pick this up from my tailor.. I wear a 34 waist, and he had to practically remake the trousers because they were quite large. The jacket was taken in some, and feels great on me.. :) Granted, the suit needs to be pressed, but it will do.....

That's the only thing I thought of - looks like it could use a little pressing, but thought that could also have been due to the posing for the photos. But other than that, it looks great. What a fantastic find!

I agree it just needs a little pressing. I've never been to much of a fan of the dark shirt with dark suit look, but seeing as you've got a shotgun in your hands in your avatar I'll not make any rude comments like some people here who may have mistaken the Lounge for one of those other supposed "style" forums where those sort of comments pass.

You look fantastic! In addition to the rust tie, don't forget the matching handkerchief in the pocket.

A black hat would set the suit off perfectly.

What a very odd button stance. Very high indeed. The jacket would look perfectly proportioned if it were an inch or two shorter. As it is, it looks like a jacket that was intended to be shortened but never was. That is a lot of fabric below the bottom button.

Other than that, i can't see why anyone would say it doesn't fit. It doesn't seem to me to be too tight.

Does it have lapel buttonholes? It reminds me of a Merchant Marine dress uniform.

Is this the look you're going for, Technonut?

I like it! You look like the perfect film noir villain. Stylish indeed. Nothing wrong with the fit, either... That suit looks great on you. :)

Techno, can I fly over and go shopping with you? 'Cause you've got the great-find aura around you, man!

I really like the way you put your look together. It's clear by looking at your pics you've got an idea of what you want your ensemble to look like, and you know how to achieve that look. Bravo! :eusa_clap

Technonut,

Great suits! Can we please some detail pics of the inside of the suit, i.e. lining, waistband and etc?

Sorry for not replying sooner... I have been on the west coast since Aug. 5th, and having a fantastic time... ;)

Sefton... lol

cookie... As a matter of fact, it was... ;) :p

You wear it well!

i agree with Dinerman about adding some color.

Thank You WEEGEE

Thanks kamikat... I'm working on locating the "right" rust tie and pocket square..

Baron Kurtz... Thanks for saying the fit is good.. My tailor appreciates it I'm sure.. I don't know what to say about the jacket length.. The suit is how it would have been picked off the rack in the 40's... [huh]

A size 44? :eusa_doh: Man o man, I gotta move down by you. It could take me years to find a suit like that in that size here in the city. Congrats, it looks terrific.
