1936 Moss Bros dinner jacket

This has a rather modern styling for a 1936 dinner jacket. But with a 'buy it now' price of £39, I think that's a damn good price.

I really wonder about this one. Looks to me like the lapels are the same material as the rest of the jacket. And should the button be fabric covered?

The button could be a replacement, but i think the lapels are a different material. It does seem a little modern looking for its claimed date.

Yep, it looks odd on my monitor too. I don't see a distinction in the fabric between the lapel and body. Of coursse that doesn't mean there is not a difference!

The few vintage dinner jackets I own do not have fabric covered buttons.

There is no indication on the advert of where the date of 1936 comes from. But there does seem to be a difference between this one and a more modern logo:

And the 1940s/1950s Moss Bros logo was in a more casual font:
