Great button stance, nice fabric. The trouser tops are interestingly old-fashioned it seems. According to tailoring master Whife (I believe in The Art of Garment Making), "Trousers with plain tops-no waistband and no pleats-were at one time regarded as standard. Now, after a long period of 'second place', they are in fashion again".
Making the legs considerably longer seems to be no problem here.
The turnup cuffs look very wide - 2 inches aprox.
The seller mentions 1 inch additional fabric on the inside.
They appear to be real turnup cuffs, so they could be let out by 5 inches in total - plenty room for false cuffs.
Flo, I could resell it later. Nobody would buy the damaged stuff. The black suits on German Ebay are either expensive because they are from Cinetex or not exactly what I am looking for. Nobody seems to be willing to send some of their good stuff to Luxire for copying. So I'll have to find something in a style I like even if it doesn't fit. If my arms were two inches shorter I would be one happy camper. As it is, I don't find the real cool stuff in my size.
Hi! Please excuse me for cutting in. I hope I 'm not being rude. If the gentleman doesn't fit the suit , may I look at it after him? I'm looking around the site to buy a 1930's suit, 2-3 piece, single breasted MINIMUM SIZES : CHEST 44 SHOULDER 19 SLEEVE 25 LENGTH 31, PANTS WAIST 32 INSEAM 31. Please let me know if you know anyone!
And good luck to you CPVD, hope you get one soon!
Thanks much appreciate your help!
