I think this has been listed once before (with a much higher starting price?) but didn't sell.

The vendor claims 1930s. I don't know enough about union tags to tell if this is a thirties one:

The three-button suit is more likely from the 40s. Note the 1939 copyright date on the union tag. The lapel shape is also very indicative of mid 40s American suits too.

With that button stance and the shape of those lapels, that was probably not intended to be a "three-into-two," or "three-on-one," if you like.
