Beautiful 1930s dinner jacket or tuxedo made in England by Montague Burton. Single button coat with ribbed grosgrain faced peaked lapels. Coat is fully lined and unvented with three button cuffs. The coat has padded shoulders with high armholes and a nice drape. Trousers are high rise and full cut, with double forward pleats, button fly, suspender buttons and embroidered stripe down the outside of each leg ending in plain cuffs. Trousers are unlined also have the Burton makers mark on the inside. Both trousers and coat are made of a nice heavyweight wool that drapes wonderfully. Excellent condition with no holes that I can find.
This is a rare 1930s English matched semi-formal set that's in great condition and ready for wear. The coat seems roughly to be a 38 Regular in US sizing. Please see the following measurements.
Chest: 41" Measured from armpit to armpit and doubled
Shoulder Width: 15.25" Measured across back from seam to seam at narrowest point, 17.5" at the top wider point.
Sleeve Length: 24" Measured from top shoulder seam to cuff
Coat Length: 29" Measured from top of collar to bottom hem
Trouser Waist: 34" Measured flat and doubled
Trouser Inseam: 29.5"
