Moderately-priced and highly presentable cocoa brown serge 2B/3pc with a small windowpane plaid of tan, black and (barely visible) maroon.
Labeled "Cheshire De Luxe, New York," no other markings.
Early-to-mid 30s look with ventless back, broad welted edge lapel, flap pockets to the jacket, classic 6B/4 pocket vest, and double pleated trouser with waist extension tab.
Only notable damage is a moth bite about pinhead size at the bend of the right knee (indicated by the pencil point - click to enlarge). This is also the best rendition of the suit's actual color.
Measurements
Jacket: 22 3/8" pit to pit; 21 3/4" at button (top or bottom); 25 1/4" sleevehead to cuff (no extra to let); 18 5/8" across shoulder back; 29" long less collar
Vest: 21 3/8" pit to pit; 19 5/8" at beltback; 25 1/2" top back seam to bottom points
Trousers: 19 1/4" across waist (1" extra to let); 13" front rise (slightly higher in back to allow for brace buttons); 43 5/8" outseam; 31 3/4" inseam including 1 7/8" cuff (no extra to let); 11 1/2" width at knee; 10 1/4" width at cuff
This was probably let out at the sleeves and trou cuffs for a hand-me-down to a taller man. It fits me (5'11", 185, 43R) spare and short in the jacket (the bottom button is about at my natural waist!) and very tight in the vest, but the sleeves are right and the trou cuffs break big.
