I know contrast collars and cuffs were a thing in the early 30s, but I like the look, and was wondering if it was correct up till the early 40s.

I have a blue striped shirt that I want to add a spear point collar to, but I don't have matching fabric. I want to place my look circa 1940-1945, and i was wondering if a white collar and cuffs would have at least been seen then as attached (as opposed to removable). Or would that look have died out by 1945?
