I spend way too much time on eBay, and happened to notice a Stetson Stratoliner being offered under Buy It Now for $12, and felt obligated to purchase it, even though it wasn't my size. My original intent was to resell it, thinking that I could get a much better price. Now I will probably just count my losses (small as they are), and be the proud (?) owner of a vintage Stratoliner. Here are some pictures:
As you can see, part of the ribbon is missing, and the sweatband needs to be replaced. Near the pinch the felt looks pretty worn, as if it's working on developing a hole. You get what you pay for, I guess!
Just behind the size tag there's a $10.00 price tag - according to the dating thread, that would put it around 1950. Does that seem right?
