Found this beauty over the weekend. Too small for me so I’m going to hang onto it, give it to my 9yo boy if and when.
It’s obviously vintage, and in immaculate condition. Looks like “JC PENNEY’s” hat, XXX Quality, and a telltale Union label.
Going to guess 1960’s. That Western serif typeface could be ‘70s though.
Does the “Marathon” have a following in the hat crowd. It’s nearly identical in quality —from what I can tell — from a Stetson, Dobbs, etc.,
