Hi all, I recently got this nice waistcoat from Walker Slater:

As someone who doesn’t wear suit jackets I much prefer my waistcoats to have a regular cloth / non-shiny back like this one.

Hi all,
Does anyone have any ideas about this waistcoat? It's backless, so must be post-1923 (though I think it's probably much later than that anyway), it has what looks like would have originally been four buttons for a slip (only one remains) and the buckle reads 'SOLIDE'. Thanks!
I'm probably never actually going to NEED to know, but I'm curious as to whether or not a classic black evening waistcoat would be considered permissible with Full Evening Dress/White Tie. I heard somewhere that it was allowed in the Victorian era, but that it went out of fashion after 1901.
