I've thought safari jackets were an affectation unless you are actually going on a safari. However, the Cabela's version as worn by Big Man is a nice jacket and doesn't scream poser. Nyah, not sure why you don't don't like cotton outerwear. I live in dry country, so my cotton jackets get a...
David Morgan carries some nice Panama fedoras in your price range. I don't know much about Panama hats, but DM is a reputable company. I have ordered Akubra hats from them with no issues. Fast delivery, accurate sizing, generous return policy.
Google will get you lots of hits, but it's...
I carry everything from a .22 Magnum KelTec PMR 30, very lethal on feral cats and ground squirrels to a full size 1911 depending on the circumstances. Often a Kahr .380 as a pocket gun, either primary in situations where a full sized pistol is difficult to conceal or a as back up to a larger...
Lottsa cowboy hats in Wyoming. I have three Steton Open Roads, two in the traditional cattleman's crease including a 7x Clear Beaver and 25, and one a 3x creased as a fedora. I also have a 4X Stetson that's my knock around hat and a vintage 7X Rancher style for serious wear. Sadly, I also...
It's a nice hat with some decent options for bands, but I wouldn't call it a buckaroo hat. See this link for buckaroo styles, which tend to have relatively flat brims with low crowns. http://yourhat.com/1gallery.html I'm no expert, but I'd call your hat more of a rancher or maybe a...
Much depends on the garment in question - sweater, light weight wool shirt or pants, heavy wool coat. My Filson double cruiser is 20 years old and while the nap is gone from some wear points and the sleeves have shaped to my arms a bit, there is no visible "stretch." I have vintage Pendleton...
I'm a fan of wool pants. I have Filson, Woolrich, and some German army surplus for Wyoming winters. All three are tougher than barbed wire and will last longer than I will. But they aren't vintage "trousers." I have no experience with those. I wear a lot of wool, and the only fabric that...
If you ramble through the posts in the hat section of FL, you'll see loungers wearing fedoras with everything from suits to Bermuda shorts. Jeans, khakis, tee shirts, sweaters, etc. Just wear the hat. Don't let the hat wear you. By that I mean be confident and don't worry about what other...
These aren't fancy nor retro in appearance, but they are very sturdy and reasonably priced. The big Cabela's label is like a billboard.

38 degrees this morning in Cheyenne with possibility of snow tonight and tomorrow. Summer was short, wet, and cool. Hoping for some Indian Summer and fall fly fishing. Breaking out the vintage Pendleton shirts and Filson mackinaw.
Filson has high quality jackets and coats. Been in the clothing business since the Alaskan gold rush in 1898 or so. You could find traditional designs from them, but nothing military.
Might try these folks. Old west reenactors and cowboy action shooting folks are big on band collar shirts.
