I'm a rather round girl, and I swear by Spanx if I have to wear some sort of bodyshaper. It's most definitely not vintage, but until I can either get my hands on a sewing machine, or drop the extra person I seem to have permanently attached to my middle, it's what I've got. :)
:offtopic: What...
I asked my sister about this (she's a cosmetologist) and she suggested either A, wear your hair in your standard vintage style so that the colorist can see where she would need to add highlights in order to make those sections pop, or B, wear your hair down, but bring photos of yourself or...
Gloves, modern or vintage?
Forgive me if this has already been addressed, but I have always enjoyed wearing gloves in public. However, I find it increasingly hard to find decent gloves in stores, and have to turn to the internet (which bothers me, because glove sizing, though standardized, is...
Holy Cow, RedHotRidingHood! What a find! I wish I could find estate sales like that around here. I need to get out and hit my local vintage and antique shops as a starting ground. But wowwie!
Oh man, I love some of the stuff that TopRunway is showing. I do have a question for you ladies that have had her make some things for you: what's the quality like? I'm a little leery of custom online shopping, as you don't always know the kind of quality you're going to get. But since some of...

I got told by a make up artist in college that the only things you need to really concern yourself with are mascara, liquid eyeliner, and liquid foundation. Her reasoning was that lipstick you didn't wear was never going to be worn anyway, any kind of liquid or cream concealer was going to be...
I've been using the Apple-Almond cleansing oil from my local L'Occitane recently, and it's nice. It's a bit on the the "not as clean as I'd like" side. But the toner, and the facial moisturizer in the same series are amazing. The thing I picked up there that I really like is the Lavender...
I dealt with oil issues when I was younger, and I always found that using a harsher "cleansing" shampoo and minimal - to - no conditioner ended up clearing up a lot of the limp, oily feel. If she's unable, or unwilling to do something to fry her hair (which seems to be the best for curls, sadly)...
Hello all! This is my first time posting! I'm so excited about vintage things. I'm just getting into it, but I've always loved the era. For the last couple of days, I've been lurking pretty much 24/7, and I gotta say, I'm glad to be able to finally post, because I have about a million questions...
