What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

I posted this new hat of mine on another thread, but I'm guessing not many will see it. Many months ago I asked Mike Miller of Northwest hats to make me a replica of Stephen Temkin's creation which he called the Milaner. Mike did an outstanding job. The final product is elegant and beautiful...

I think I found the term! Temkin called it an "open roll" brim.

    Toronto Hatter Leon Drexler

I probably should start a new thread to show off this hat, as it was custom-made for me by Mike Miller of NW Hats. But since it is replica (or Mike's interpretation) of Stephen Temkin's Milaner. I thought it best to begin here. I love everything about this fedora. I much prefer it to a homburg...

Temkin had a special name for the brim of the Milaner, but I cannot remember it now. The following expressions come to mind, but I don't know if any of them are accurate: "open brim," "semi-curl brim," "open curl brim ... Does anyone remember the term or expression he used for the brim? TIA.

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

Another Borsalino to share. I bought this a few years ago before the Pandemic. If you can tell me anything you might know about the fedora, I'd very much appreciate it. At the time I purchased the hat, I did not know that one should order a size up for Borsalinos. Unfortunately it sits too...

Alas, that label is so faded I cannot get it any sharper with my old iPhone camera. But thanks for your help!

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

I purchased this vintage Borsalino a couple of weeks ago. I do not know its age. All I can tell you is that the felt is exceptionally soft and supple. The color is grey (I think) with a hint of sage green. It does not have a liner. If anyone can tell me anything about it, I'd appreciate it...

Do the front and back c Do the front an back of the brim curve slightly down, or is that an optical illusion?

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

I'm not wearing it today but I was wearing it yesterday--my new bespoke fedora from Hufvud: silverbelly beaver felt and silverbelly bound edge, with silver 2" hatband. I love this fedora!

That narrow brim Homburg reminds me of a hat I saw in a movie once. I think I'm thinking about the hat worn by the professional gunfighter in Open Range.

I thought "tomorrow" was too good to be true. UPS just alerted me that they will now deliver the Floki on Monday.

I'm going to try this again. Yesterday I tried to post some photos of a vintage Borsalino homburg I recently acquired. Here are the pics. Hopefully everyone can see them. :)

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Perhaps this is the right forum for me to post this link. I recently wrote a blog article on my favorite fedoras, with a bit of history regarding new hat passion. It's titled "Fedora Transcendence." Enjoy. I welcome all suggestions! https://afkimel.wordpress.com/2021/05/28/fedora-transcendence/
