Too much work for something that's not a big deal...lol. Besides, if people can't figure out it's a mirror shot... *shrug*

Here's another - Wilson's Cross-zip (Perfecto-ish style). I have worn this one on a handful of rides around town - thicker leather than the cheap jacket, and a decent amount of padding due to the 2nd liner. Plus, it's kept me pretty warm on the chilly-ish rides. Like all my leather...
My main riding jacket (when it's warm) -- Icon Sanctuary Textile w/armor.
Technically a motorcycle jacket, but I'd never wear it on my bike - leather is WAY too thin, and no armor inside. This is that cheap perfecto-style I did all that conditioning work to.
I have a few others, but no...
Out of curiosity, do the Vanson jackets come with pockets/provisions for armor? I'm finding a lot of leather "Motorcycle" jackets are distinctly lacking the ability to install armor for riding...it's rather annoying.
One of the tricks for breaking in/conditioning leather I found online doing research was to use vaseline. The process was to wet the leather with isopropyl alcohol, then rub vaseline into the hide. This came from the site of a leather shop I believe. I imagine the alcohol helps to break down...
The whole point of the gusset is to increase room/movement in the crotch without constricting/binding anything up. I'd recommend reserving judgment if you haven't actually tried them on. Honestly, I can't go back to regular jeans after wearing them, and the wrangler shorts I used to wear at my...
I second the Duluth pants - you're not going to find much of anything that's tougher than those. Even their regular denim pants are stout as hell and last forever.
True, I haven't worn the military boots in years, but they were worn daily for 3-4yrs each pair. Like I said, wasn't trying to shit on anyone's post...just sharing my experiences. Honestly, before this thread I'd never heard of conditioning boots...or needing to, for that matter.
Strange, both pairs of my flight deck boots from the Navy haven't dried/cracked. Never conditioned either pair, just the occasional coat of polish, usually only on the toe to re-blacken them. One pair is nearly 20yrs old, the other ~15yrs old. Same with the leather on my jungle boots, which...
Last few days it's been colder than the 9th circle of hell here (today was actually warmer though), so I've been wearing my Excelled B3 -- JESUS, that thing is WARM!
Fit seems to be about the same as before I started, maybe even a little better due to it being more relaxed. I didn't heat it very long, just enough to simulate leaving it outside on a warm/hot day. Kind of hard to do that here in Colorado right now...lol. Thanks for the tips, I'll keep that...
TL;DR
Super-coating jacket with Lexol didn't ruin the jacket - it's really soft and supple now, and has a decent finish to it. Read on for the full details and photos.
I finished the work on my Leatherup.com Perfecto jacket I mentioned in the conditioning thread I'd revived the other day...
