I'm looking for a 7 5/8 or 3/4 bowler in any condition for around $20. I'm putting together a Victorian brawler Halloween costume so a beat up hat with stains or some holes would be perfect. Dark colors like black, brown, or dark green are preferred but if you have an oddball light colored one...
Hey All,
I was given a 1921 Singer Model 16 walking foot industrial sewing machine. It has an electric motor under the table with a round leather belt that comes through the table to run the machine. The issue I'm having is the machine keeps throwing the belt. I've tried tighening the...
I know this post is over five years old but...
I just saw the movie last week and I really enjoyed it! It really struck me when the killer, running from the police, takes time to put on a jacket as he leaves his apartment. When he ran down the street you could see why, all the men on the...
Hello Fellas, Sorry for the delay in the response. I've been looking for a hat (found one!) and I lost my internet access. I teach high school and the main server for the area blocked the FL! I bought a new computer for home and now I'm having issues getting internet access at home. I'm only...
Those books came out when I was in the fifth grade and scared the crap out of me. Anybody remember the Wendigo (sp?) or the room in the hotel no one could stay in with out loosing their minds? Does anyone have the pic of the footsteps coming through the ceiling? I'm not sure I even want to...
I Googled Joshua Hoffine and found his, I assume, new site. I agree the pictures are too obvious, for lack of a better word. They are done, there is nothing left to wonder about. I like some of Gregory Crewdson's work but much of it, to me, looks too fake. I think that is the result of a lot...
I've seen book of pictures of children who had passed away before, most were posed like they were sleeping. A peaceful reminder of those who had passed on, for many this was the only tangible memory of their lost children.
However the picture shot through the open window is weird! That kids...
I don't like my hats ridiculously low, I've just never been a fan of a high perched hat. I like my head to go into a hat rather than a hat that goes on my head. I'm not sure if that is any clearer.
Thanks for the tips. I'll get a tailors tape and get some more accurate measurements.
I Should have made a point of saying I don't own either hat, I just snagged the pics from Ebay. I was sold on the Dobbs but I did not get a chance to bid because the meeting I was in lasted longer...
Hello All,
I’m just getting into vintage fedoras and am a little lost. I do have a new Stormy Kromer that I’ve gotten several positive comments on and I really like. I also have a pith helmet that I ware once a year at a car show I help put on, I don’t get as many positive comments on...
Those are two very nice jackets. What would one call that style of jacket? I've seen similar ones listed on Ebay as "Trucker Jacket" but searching for that just brings up a bunch of 1970's Levi denim jackets. I have seen some very nice vintage plaid lined leather jackets go pretty...
That was a pretty interesting article, I might have to check out the book they wrote about. I'd like to see the History Channel do something on this as well, it's better than another Deadliest Catch copy!
Hey Hargist, I really like the pictures. They kind of remind me of Gregory Crewdson's work. His pics are too fake looking for my taste but I really like what you've done. They have an ethereal feel that conveys a feeling almost as much as in image. That ticket booth is down right menacing...
Walking sticks with animal heads creep me out a little bit. I'm not sure why. Aside from that, this is pretty cool. I think it's a little weird that the dog is molded and not carved. It seems like something from Borsalino would be hand carved.
