I haven’t posted on the forum in ages but thought I’d share this.
Thought I’d share a recently restored/reclaimed vintage Fedora that came to me. I have all kinds of hats and yes I do wear wide-brimmed Fedoras and own a few others.
We recently were closing up my MIL’s condo after an estate...
Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root.
Saw them perform at Bell's Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo last night and he was wearing this hat. Liz Berlin had a great lid too and l'll have to see if anybody got a good pic of it or can find it online too.
As a super added bonus my son's band, Melophobix...
Cool pic, Jack! Thanks for sharing. Wonder if he harvested that leopard?
Just noticed the pic is reversed as the lock is on the left side of the carbine.
Thanks! I couldn't imagine the hassle of dealing with multiple calibers.
Actually the bird's head grip is a pleasure to shoot and makes for an accurate shooter. Colt never used that grip in a single action pistol but did in their double action Rainmaker, Lightning and Thunderer M1877.
I shoot a Cimarron Thunderer, Ruger Vaquero and Winchester M94 Trapper, all in .44 Special. Shotgun is a Baikal Bounty Hunter in 12 Ga. I load my own .44Sp that duplicates the Winchester Cowboy load, which if memory serves me is 5.1 gr of Win231 with a 240 grain lead flat nose bullet. So...
Thought I'd share some pics of an historic hat a friend of mine recently was given. That's right, given as in gratis by someone he had just met at a living history gathering. Once he saw it he questioned the fellow several times if he was sure he wanted to give it to him, recognizing the...
Got out this past weekend for a cowboy shoot with the boys and wore the Grizz. For my purpose it's a good fit, literally and figuratively. Grizz uses old-time methods and it seems period to me because of that, at least externally. It doesn't have the finish you would get from most modern hat...
Speaking of Montana Peaks . . . Great segue, eh? I did receive the hat I ordered from Grizz a couple of weeks ago. I was on a family vacation for a week and then a busy week at work, so I haven't been around for a couple of weeks. I'd have to look back to figure it out exactly but delivery...
I believe you are both correct; those are simply different models of US military campaign or service hats as they came to be called. While I do not consider wiki to be a definitive source, the entry for campaign hats is entirely devoted to the Smokey Bear/Montana Peak style hat...
Yeah, I ordered it from Grizz and received it two weeks ago, much sooner than expected. I haven't gotten around to taking pics. When I do I'll post them.
Nice revolver! I'd say you're way past due to bust the cherry on that one!
I've only gotten rid of two firearms that I've owned and one was a M29. Honestly, I just wasn't shooting it or using it like I envisioned, so when I got into CAS I traded it in for a Ruger Vaquero in .44 Mag. I've...
Dewars White Label is good to use with a mixer and is my go to there. Rusty Nail, Scotch and soda, Rob Roy, . . . But yeah, single malt is for sippin'!
