I personally don't like wearing any collar popped up, even though I'm thirteen and thus far under the age of fourty. I prefer to wear it like this

It does depend on how you pair it. When worn with a day cravat and other golden era accesories it can look quite good

In the 1930s stylish men would wear the collar of their polo shirt popped over their jacket. This only workshop with a spearpoint collar poli shirt with a deep placket or something like this

I personally have a collar clip. They have two clips on the back. and they clasp on to the collar. In my experience they work with both medium spread collars and spearpoint collars today I'm wearing a 1970s bold cotton shirt but it looks the same on my 1930s spearpoint collar shirt...
I'm like that too, but I was talking about my vintage friends who host this kind of events. A boater and a dinnerjacket have been seen in lots of vintage illustrations from the 30s

Depends on the weather but in general, yes of course! And besides, in my experience vintagelovers, I'm one of them, don't care that much for rules, they care about stories. Have fun.
