Sweetfights, I do hope you post pics when you receive that jacket. I think their sidewinder is one of the coolest looking jackets out there. Not sure I could pull it off myself unfortunately
Got back from vacation Sunday, and I gotta say both Langlitz and Johnson are awesome. Turns out Johnson can source roo on request, for a fee. At this point I'm between a langlitz crescent in goat, and a Johnson n200 (or something based on it) in kangaroo. Really tough call. I like Johnsons...
Mark I definitely appreciate that advice, and you're absolutely right. I imagine its going to be a couple months yet, actually maybe three or four. My wife and I are both in the home stretch of our weight lose journey, and I can appreciate how much difference even 20lbs can make. Mainly I'm just...
Bummer about Chicago, though it would be cool to tour the Horween tannery next time I get over there (if they do that)
I did foresee that kangaroo might be a big ask, not super worried about cost, but from an availability aspect. I’ll have to ask around when I call makers.
Really though, I did...

I haven't actually posted here in a very long time (nearly 4 years in fact), mainly because I haven't been wearing leather jackets as of late.
I've had only two jacket, one crummy Wilson's riding jacket and one G1 from U.S.Wings. Over the last year or so my wife and I have...
If you do decide to get one of these, please post fit pictures. I have a G1 by them that I quite like, aside from the bi swing that tends to poof out.
I've been considering one of their adventure jackets, but I'm just a bit worried about the "slim" fit as I am a slightly round kind of guy.
First and foremost gentlemen, I apologize for the wait, it has been a hectic few days to say the least.
I also apologize for the "selfie" style pics, they are not the best.
all that aside, first we have an overall view of the jacket after alteration.
next we have a closer view of the sleeve...
ya know, I did think about that. but by the time I pay shipping to them and back, It would be the same cost as the tailor I dropped it off at. Besides, Ive been needing to find a local tailor anyway and the guy I found seems pretty competent. I should have it back in about a week at which time I...
as promised, I had the wife took a couple pics of me in the jacket. please excuse the poor lighting.
The first one is a simple front view
This one has better lighting

Here my lovely wife lends a hand to show just where my wrist is...
Thanks everyone for the feedback, I'll be sending it to a tailor as soon as I find one that does leather around me. I will take some "before" pics of the jacket and fit tonight after work
I know it wont actually shrink, and you make a good point, it is goat so I would imagine it wont crease the way my cow hide motorcycle jacket has.
Its looking like I need to find a tailor that does leather in my area.
So after a long search for a jacket on a budget I decided to order a US Wings G1 in USCG spec. Just got it in today and so far I feel like the torso fit is good, and the fit and finish are what I would expect for a 230 dollar coat.
If I have one complaint at the moment, its that the arms...
I can actually speak a little to the quality of Wilsons Leather, since their stuff is still quite common in the midwest. make no mistake, its not top notch stuff. however, my riding jacket is my Wilsons and it feels as thick as armor while being soft as well (the later quality did take some...
thank you for the quick reply winterland.
new vs used isn't really an issue for me. I love the vintage stuff, and I'm hitting my local thrift shops hard to get a good deal. only issue im running into is that I am a bigger man (typically about 2x) this is mainly due to wide shoulders. I feel...
greetings all, my name is Cody and I live in the lovely land of Iowa.
im trying to decide on a winter coat for this year as its supposed to be quite a cold winter and I dont think my motorcycle jacket is up to the job.
I'm basically trying to decide between a jacket like this...
