Depends on which model vanson .. I have the stallion which took a mere 7 years to break in and I have the Highwayman style E which is extremely heavy and definitely not a social jacket and may never break in!
Happily having far exceeded their rather limited size range I can resist the attraction of a snow white leather jacket for biking....well apart from the sleeves and back that is....

First of all as other contributors have mentioned zippered sleeves are intended to be tight from a motorcycle point of view and I have to tell you that I have a vanson stallion that has nicely weathered in EXCEPT for the zippered sleeves which are as waxy and tight as when I purchased it new...
