"Manifest" People got on a plane, hit severe turbulence and landed five and a half years later. First episode was good. We'll see how it goes from here.
Very true but I can tell you from personal observation that having access to the public treasury and especially having the ability to raise taxes can stave off the collapse for far too long. Especially if you've figured out how to blame someone else for your buffoonery.
Hmm. There seems to be a...
Ha! I rode a 1 cylinder Yamaha 360 enduro many years ago. Ring ding writ large. It would also backfire and run backwards if lugged down too far making hill climbs a sporting affair indeed.
As far as I know, all of the reasonably reliable panther sightings have been in southern Illinois. I don't believe as of this time that anyone north of I-72 will need to worry about stumbling onto one. At least not yet.
The California Zephyr passes through just north of here. It is a fairly common sight to see private cars on the tail of this train. About 25 years ago I rode the Zephyr to Denver in January and we had a private car on that train.
It was bitterly cold and the car had some issues, which caused...
When I was in college the local Hardees had a chain conveyor with a bucket on it for the drive up. You placed your order and put your money in the basket. It went straight up the wall and through a hole just below the roof line. Your food ad change came back to you the same way. I have never...
In the process of spring cleaning and opening a couple of boxes from my mother's house I came across the aggravation board built by my grandfather. It has been so many years since I played the game that I will have to find the rules online to refresh my memory.
I too grew up with Electrolux sweepers. Had one myself until a few years ago. I gave it to one of the kids and it is still in operation. My wife grew up in an upright sweeper household and she didn't care for dragging the Electrolux around.
Even she has admitted that it did have advantages.
We have been watching Peaky Blinders.
My wife did not like it the first time I tried to watch it, so back in the hopper it went. I restarted it a few weeks ago and she is now more absorbed in it than I am.
Not sure it is Boardwalk Empire level for me but it is an enjoyable hour.
A similar phrase caught my attention many years ago and has been ongoing until the present. "In times like these."
In my 55 years here I don't believe that we've ever had a good day, at least according to the peddlers of these things.
I absolutely despise speakers of the Buzzarian tongue. It is...
Our ATM had that same strange accent.
I thought it was odd but not anything to be angered by. Apparently, I was in the minority. They got so many complaints that she is now mute.
I am guessing here but it appears the tri taper came first and the tiara was its replacement sometime in the early 60s. Again, that is a guess.
Unless you have them side by side it may be difficult to tell them apart unless you are a luggaphile or whatever you would call a vintage luggage expert.
As usual, I am tardy with the gardening chores. Hopefully will be able to get caught up this weekend.
As much as I feel for those who have been locked out of their regular employment, I could use a few days to work around home.
1950s Samsonite is hard to beat if you want usable good quality luggage. There are several nice colors to choose from and it is relatively easy to find at estate sales and the like.
It's not very big comparatively. Maybe 3000 or so now. It is also the epicenter of the earthquakes from a couple hundred years ago and the namesake of the fault that we're told is waiting to shake us all to perdition. I have been working off and on for several years on our emergency response to...
